The Highlanders

Formerly known as the Otago Highlanders, the Highlanders are based in Dunedin on the south island of New Zealand.

They took on the name from the Scottish imigrants that came to the country in the 1840s' and 1850s'. This gutsy little team had the home ground of Carisbrooke (aka the House of Pain ), a very difficult team to beat on their home ground.

They have now got a new home venue - The Forsyth Barr stadium seating a good 30000 fans. They have been in three semi finals and one final, which they lost to the Crusaders
